Settings and Administration

Settings and Administration

Settings control platform-wide behavior, security, services, queues, and delivery integrations.

Common settings

The Common settings screen is organized into:

  • Security
  • Network
  • System
  • Notifications

Use this area for platform identity, safe access, networking, and alert behavior.

Administration workflow

For any production change:

  1. Identify the tenant or workspace affected.
  2. Make the smallest change that solves the issue.
  3. Save the change.
  4. Check operation logs.
  5. Run a one-recipient test if delivery behavior may be affected.
  6. Document why the change was made.

Service settings

Service settings expose infrastructure service state. Use them to confirm that core mail and application services are healthy before troubleshooting campaigns.

BCC rules

BCC rules copy matching messages to another address. Use them for audit mailboxes, compliance archiving, or shared team visibility.

Forwarding rules

Forwarding rules route mail from one mailbox address to another destination. Use them for aliases and team distribution.

AI model settings

AI model settings control the model used for AI-assisted template generation. Configure this before using AI template workflows.

Send queue

The send queue screen lets operators:

  • Refresh queue data.
  • Review delayed messages.
  • Open queue logs.
  • Resend selected messages.
  • Delete selected queue entries.
  • Update queue parameters.

Use destructive queue actions carefully. Deleting queued mail removes pending delivery attempts.

Queue safety

Before resending or deleting queued messages:

  • Confirm which campaign or API template produced them.
  • Confirm whether recipient providers are deferring or rejecting.
  • Check whether the issue is temporary.
  • Export or record enough detail for incident review.

KumoMTA settings

KumoMTA settings connect PING8 to an external KumoMTA deployment. Start with KumoMTA and KumoProxy before changing production delivery settings.

Common mistakes

  • Changing queue controls during an active campaign without pausing new sends.
  • Rotating a secret in one place and not the matching integration.
  • Enabling AI-assisted templates without confirming model settings and content review.
  • Creating forwarding loops between aliases and mailbox rules.
