Never launch a campaign without a test send.

Test email workflow

  1. Enter a recipient you control in Test email.
  2. Click Send test mail.
  3. Confirm the message appears in the inbox or provider logs.
  4. Confirm PING8 records the send attempt.
  5. Fix any DNS, template, or delivery engine errors.

Pre-launch checklist

  • Sender domain verifies.
  • From address is correct.
  • Subject has no typo.
  • Template preview is correct.
  • Recipient count matches expectation.
  • Tags filter the intended audience.
  • Unsubscribe is enabled for marketing.
  • Delivery engine is intentional.
  • Test send succeeds.

Test failure workflow

If the test email fails:

  1. Read the visible error message.
  2. Check whether the message failed before injection or after the delivery engine accepted it.
  3. Confirm the recipient is valid and not suppressed.
  4. Confirm the sender domain verifies.
  5. Check the selected engine health.
  6. Use Failure Details for provider-specific responses.

Launch small first

For new domains, new IPs, or new templates, launch to a small group first. Review bounces and complaints before sending to the full audience.

What to monitor after launch

  • Progress reaches completion.
  • Delivered, deferred, bounced, and suppressed counts update.
  • Failure details have actionable provider responses.
  • Complaint count stays at zero.
  • Open/click activity appears only if tracking is enabled and expected.
