Tags And Segments

Tags create reusable segments inside contact groups.

Create a tag

  1. Open Marketing > Contacts > Tags.
  2. Click Add Tag.
  3. Choose a group.
  4. Name the tag.
  5. Save.

Bulk tag

Use Bulk Tag when importing or assigning tags to many recipients.

Use tags in campaigns

In Add Task, select:

  • Group.
  • Tag logic: OR, AND, or NOT.
  • One or more tags.

Tag logic

LogicMeaning
ORRecipient has any selected tag.
ANDRecipient has all selected tags.
NOTRecipient does not have selected tags.

Best practices

  • Keep tag names stable.
  • Use tags for durable segments such as customer, trial, or newsletter.
  • Avoid creating a new tag for every single send.
  • Check recipient count before launching.

Success check

Before launching a campaign, confirm the visible recipient count matches the audience you expect. If the count is too high or too low, fix tag assignments before sending.
