Domains and DNS
Add a Domain

Add a Domain

Use this workflow when onboarding a new sending domain.

Before you start

Prepare:

  • DNS provider access.
  • A mail hostname such as mail.yourdomain.com.
  • The public IP for the mail host, such as 203.0.113.10.
  • A decision about whether this domain needs a dedicated outbound IP.

Add the domain

  1. Open Sending > Domain.
  2. Click Add Domain.
  3. Enter the domain, such as yourdomain.com.
  4. Set domain quota and mailbox limits.
  5. Set the mail hostname, such as mail.yourdomain.com.
  6. If using a dedicated IP, enter the outbound IP and test connectivity.
  7. Configure a catch-all mailbox only if you need one.
  8. Save.

Optional brand information

The add-domain form can help create brand information from public URLs when AI settings are configured. Use this only when the website content is approved for template generation.

After saving

Open DNS Records from the domain table and add each record at your DNS provider. Do not send from the domain until verification passes.

Common mistakes

  • Adding the domain but not adding DNS records.
  • Using a proxied DNS mode for mail host records.
  • Adding multiple SPF records at the same host.
  • Forgetting PTR/rDNS because it is configured with the IP provider, not the DNS provider.
